Our Ministries

The mission of Tabernacle Baptist Church is a reflection of the “Great Commission” of the Lord Jesus Christ.

“And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth. Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen” — Matthew 28:18-20.

This commandment may be summarized under three heads:

• Preaching the Gospel to every creature — Mark 16:15.
• Baptizing those who believe on Jesus Christ — Acts 2:41.
• Teaching those added to the church through salvation, then baptism — Acts 2:42.

With this in mind, all of our Church’s ministries are focused on fulfilling at least one aspect of the Commission.

Regular Weekly Ministries:

• Soul Winning and Visitation
  A weekly outreach into the community involving both door-to-door visitation and follow-up calls to those who have visited Tabernacle Baptist Church is conducted every Tuesday night and selected Saturday mornings.

• College Outreach Ministry
  A evangelistic and discipling ministry to the students of Texas Tech University and other local colleges. This ministry offers student the opportunity to fellowship together, study together, worship together, serve others together, and work together.

• Gospel Radio Broadcast
  Our weekly radio broadcast can be heard on KRFE AM 580 every Sunday morning at 9:15 and every Sunday afternoon at 3:00. For copies of broad-casted messages, please contact the church office at 806.744.4443 or by writing us at baptist2@tbaptist.com.
 
 

For children –

• Sunday School
  Exciting Bible classes are provided for all ages from infants on up, beginning at 9:45 every Sunday morning.

• Nursery
  Loving care is provided in a well-equipped nursery for infants up to age two. Nursery services are provided during every regular meeting, and all special meetings.

For adults –

• Sunday School
  Adult Bible classes are held in the main auditorium every Sunday morning at 9:45 — We are currently in a series of studies on the ABC's of Christian Growth.

• Choir
  The choir provides special music for Church meetings and special programs throughout the year. It is open to teen and adult members.

• Recording Ministry
  Copies of all preaching and teaching messages are available on CD, MP3, or cassette tape at a minimal cost.

• Bible Training Institute
  A four-year training program using curriculum written by our pastor combined with materials published by Bible Baptist Church of Oak Harbor, Washington. Courses are taught on a modular basis, one week of the month, and are designed to help prepare men for the ministry and to equip Church members for the Lord's service.
 

Monthly Ministries:

• Ladies Birthday Fellowship
  A monthly fellowship time for ladies is held on the third Thursday of every month.

• Men’s Prayer Breakfast
  A monthly breakfast and Bible Study for men is held on the last Saturday morning of each month.

• College & Career Fellowship
  A monthly fellowship and Bible Study for college students and singles in our church and community.

• All Church Fellowship
  A monthly fellowship held on the last Sunday evening of each month.

Extension Ministries:

• Publications
  Tabernacle Baptist Church Publications produces and distributes gospel materials and Baptist teaching materials to ministries across the United States of America and around the world. Click here for a list of our materials.

• Plains Baptist Challenger
  Tabernacle Baptist Church publishes a monthly paper with articles designed to challenge Baptists in their stance for the Book and for the faith. The Plains Baptist Challenger is mailed into countries all around the world. To read recent articles or to subscribe, please click here.
