Homosexual's Name Submitted As Ambassador - One day before the impeachment trial was to begin, Pres. Clinton once again submitted "openly Gay philantrophist James Hormel to become U.S. ambassador to Luxembourg." (The Washington Blade, 1/8/99) (Hormel, an heir to the Hormel meat fortune, has been an active supporter of homosexual causes.) A previous nomination died when Sen. Lott "refused to schedule a vote on the nomination." (Ibid.) The senator said Hormel's past record as an advocate for Gay civil rights "disqualified him for an ambassadorial post." Good for the senator from Mississippi! Maybe he has read, "The wicked walk on every side, when the vilest men are exalted," (Psa. 12:8) and takes God at His word. (See also Psa. 75:10; Prov. 11:11) - W. W. Mosley

Religious War Between Muslims & Christians - On an eastern Indonesian island Christians and Muslims fought with homemade weapons...even bows and arrows. (Jakarta, Indonesia, AP, 3/10/99) The Islamic religion is bitterly opposed to Christianity even to killing those within their country who profess Christ as Lord and Savior. The irony of this is seen in the Lubbock A-J, Vista section 12-26-98. Along with other pastors in Lubbock, TX pushing for interdenominational accord, the pastor of Covenant Presbyterian Church of Lubbock said concerning gathering of all West Texas churches together "does not exclude Islam or anyone else." (Emphasis mine.) It would do these men good to write the Islamic national leader, Louis Farrakhan, and get his opinion of their "Christian" religion. "Now I beseech you, brethren, mark them which cause divisions and offences contrary to the doctrine which ye have learned; and avoid them." (Rom 16:17) -WWM

Lesbian Film ShowingBombarded In India - Movie houses in India showing the
1996 movie "Fire," featuring a lesbian couple has recently been bombarded with opposition. Mobs attacked "theaters in Bombay and Delhi that were showing the movie, causing them to close." (Washington Blade, 1/8/99) After the first attacks the movie's producer "Deepa Metha and other filmmakers joined in petitioning the Supreme Court to order police protection for theaters" who offer the movie. (Ibid.) (They would have no problem in the USA.) "This pro-homosexual periodical also revealed this bit of information: "The film has been shown throughout the world, including in Washington, D.C., and has received several film festival awards." (Emphasis mine.) What a shame it is that a country largely worshiping a false god has higher standards than Christian(?) America. "Righteousness exalteth a nation: but sin is a reproach to any people." (Prov. 14:34) - WWM

So-Called Youth Ministries' Greatest Responsibility - In modern church society the establishing of new "ministries" surface as regularly as a church group gathers. It seems every movement must have a "minister" if it is to prosper. Noted in recent years is the dividing of the Lord's church into groups from age to ailments, singles to siblings, music to meddlers. At last someone has issued a "ten commandment" list for "youth ministers." (Baptist Press, Feb. 18, 1999) These commandments deal mainly with the legal angle of responsibility. Although this certainly is a concern, there is a much more serious concern that is largely overlooked in so-called "youth ministries" today. A good place to start for young women is (Titus 2:3-5) and for the young men (Titus 2:1,2,6-8). These operations are within the church under the leadership of the pastor. Example is far more lasting in results than entertainment. - WWM

Senate Jurors Emulate A Council of Pharisees - The chief priest and Pharisees came together for a council concerning the growing popularity of the Lord. Their main fear was if they did not stop Jesus' miracle working and calling men from sin to salvation "...the Romans shall come and take away both our place and nation." (John 11:48,49) The Lord Jesus was never guilty of perjury, treason, or obstruction of justice but they feared He must be stopped or they would lose their governmental authority. Sound familiar? The House of Representatives impeached President Clinton on two accounts. However, too many in the Senate feared the majority would "come and take away both their place and political party" if they removed him from office. I pray God will forgive our nation for electing officials who have no moral spine nor spiritual guidance. (Psa. 32:12; 144:15) - WWM

Lutheran And Presbyterian Churches Share Pastor - "The Rev." Davis Price, pastor of Covenant Presbyterian Church, Lubbock, TX said "the Formula of Agreement signed by the Presbyterian Church (USA), the Evangelical Lutheran Church of America, the Reformed Church in America and the United Church of Christ" has had a impact locally. He said the document "puts us in full communion with one another"[emphasis mine] (they were never far apart) and that the change goes all the way back "to the Reformation." (Lubbock A-J, 12-26-98, C1) Pastor Price illustrated this by saying, "Lutheran and Presbyterian congregations in the Panhandle (TX) now share a Lutheran pastor." The pastor also admits "It will have an impact on the whole ecumenical movement eventually." One more step in the daughters of Rome going back home to the Mother of Harlots. -WWM

Former Baptist Associate Pastor Honored For Career Contribution - Eight career women in Lubbock, TX were honored by the YWCA. (LAJ, 2-21-99, Pg. 1D) One Elizabeth Abraham began her career as associate pastor of Second Baptist Church, Lubbock (SBC). She also has served as associate chaplain at Methodist Hospital. She now is a "frequent public speaker, and provides pulpit supply to Presbyterian churches in the area as parish associate at Covenant Presbyterian Church." There is certainly nothing amiss in honoring any accomplishment by anyone in any honorable profession. Being associate pastor of a sound Baptist church is definitely honorable. However, qualifications in any profession should be considered. Without doubt many will object to my assessment of Ms. Abraham's qualifying to receive the Religion Award as chaplain and pastor from YWCA. The Southern Baptist have ordained hundreds of women to the office of pastor the past thirty years. Neither the SBC nor YWCA consulted God's qualification for pastor nor did Second Baptist Church and other churches she has served in that capacity. "The husband of one wife" is just as essential as blameless, vigilant, sober, good behavior, hospitable, and apt to teach and all other qualification in 1 Timothy 3 and Titus 6. It is impossible for a woman to be "the husband of one wife" making it scripturally impossible for her to pastor one of the Lord's churches. Addie Davis holds the distinction of being the first woman ordained as a minister of Watts Street Church, Durham, N.C., SBC. (The Baptist Standard, 8/4/94) More than 1,000 women have been ordained to the ministry by the SBC at the time of that news release. It is becoming more popular for once sound Baptist churches in Lubbock and across our nation to have women speak in their regular services. - WWM

Women In The Ministry Enhance Ecumenism. - Miss Addie Davis, the first ordained SBC woman pastor is involved in ministering to other congregations. She has served as pastor of "American Baptist churches in Vermont and Rhode Island" and in 1994 she was currently "on the staff of a rural church in Covington, Va., attended by Baptists, Methodists and Presbyterians." (The Baptist Standard, 8/4/94) It is sure to come that some so-called Baptists churches will sign the same "Formula of Agreement signed by the Presbyterian Church (USA), the Evangelical Lutheran Church of America, the Reformed Church in America and the United Church of Christ" as they move closer together in accepting alien baptism and open communion. It might shock once sound Baptist church members to know what their pastor's conviction is concerning this matter. However, it might not! - WWM

Children's Privacy Rights? - There is a definite difference between right to privacy and just common sense according to Senator Tim Leslie of California. The California Supreme Court says that a parent's right to be consulted before their daughters can obtain an abortion is "unconstitutional because it infringes on children's privacy rights." Senator Leslie calls this "utter nonsense!" Also he says it "is a direct attack on parental authority by the State Supreme Court." The good Senator from California has the right judgement about this issue. However, there is a God in heaven with much more authority in this matter. (Eph. 6:1-3) "Children, obey your parents in the Lord: for this is right. Honour thy father and mother; which is the first commandment with promise; That it may be well with thee, and thou mayest live long on the earth." That is what the Supreme Creator of all things says about children's right. God in Heaven makes all the rules for all men even the Supreme Court. - WWM

Canada's Parliament Prohibits Preaching Against Homosexuality - A "Canadian Radio and Televison Commission Statute" revealed in a resolution passed by Canada's parliament prohibits the use of radio or television to preach against sexual practices as "sin". According to columnist Eric Barger (1995), the words "sexual orientation" revealed clearly the meaning of this ruling. "Homosexuality is thus off limits and so are the Scriptures which recognize it as sin in the sight of God," Barger reported. Many scoff at Baptist historians who report that many were martyred at the hands of Rome's rule and religion during the dark ages. Our entire culture is sexual oriented to live in fornication between opposite genders and even advocating same sex marriages. Churches could well lose their tax exempt status unless they fall in line. NAFTA has spanned the borders of free trade in North America. The U.S.A. is nearer to the acceptance of such as Canada's action than many believe. The majority of our congress and senate members have ruled that lying under oath, adultery, perjury, and other oval office corruption and crime are acceptable. Someone said: "What one generation permits, the next generation practices, and the next generation will count it as doctrine." - WWM.

Zimbabwe Ex-President Jailed For Sodomy - "Former Zimbabwean Pres. Canaan Banana was sentenced" to 10 years in jail with hard labor for sodomy and indecent assault. (Reuters, 1/18/99) This was committed with a "former aid." The report said, "Banana, married with four adult children, is a former Methodist minister." He also was convicted of raping one of his aides. This all took place in "the presidential State House library." Sound familiar? Sodomy, however, is illegal in Zimbabwe. If the US has an ambassador to Zimbabwe, why has he not the reported to them that this is acceptable in the USA? Maybe we could get their ambassador to come here and correct some of our leader's sinful indulgences. - WWM

Sainthood Waiting Period For "Mother Teresa" Waived - Pope John Paul II "has waived the mandatory wait of five years after death to begin the process of possible sainthood for Mother Teresa." (Lubbock A-J, 3/1/99 p1A) [Emphasis mine] "Beatification requires the confirmation of a miracle. After beatification, research on a second miracle, needed for canonization, can begin." Waiting to become a saint of the Lord after death is much too late. This is a man-made scheme to fill the coffers of the Vatican's false religion. The first time saints are mentioned in the Bible were the "ten thousand saints" who was given the law at Sinai. In Hannah's prayer of praise to the Lord for Samuel, and saints were very much alive at that time. (1 Sam. 2:9) Saul of Tarsus did much evil to "the saints at Jerusalem," also alive. (Acts 9:13) Paul later wrote to the saints at Rome, Corinth, Ephesus, Philippi, and Colosse. All of these were repentant believers in Christ and were all very much alive. If you wait to be pronounced a saint by a man after your death you have waited too long. It takes the work of Christ in the heart of repentant believers turning from their sin to become a saint in the eyes of God. Don't be beguiled by any man on earth referred to as "Holy Father" for any hope of spending eternity with God the Father, Holy Spirit, and our only Savior, Jesus Christ. (Acts 4:12
