Babies Born Outside Marriage In Europe-"More European children are being born out of wedlock and into a social order in which few of the old stigmas apply. In Norway 49 percent of all the births in 1999 were to unwed parents. In Iceland, the figure was 62 percent, Britain, 38 percent, and France, 41 per cent. In Catholic Ireland, where divorce became legal just seven years ago, about 31 percent of the births in 1999 were outside marriage." The Irish Prime Minister "has been with his companion, Celia Larkin, the de facto first lady, for a number of years even though he is not officially divorced from his wife, the mother of his children." Marit Arnstad, a member of Norway's Parliament is unmarried but "became pregnant while she served as the country's oil minister, and is now raising her son on her own." (SMH, 3/25/02, via AIBN)

Your Tax Dollars At Work-Homosexual-oriented education is rapidly invading America's classrooms. Emily reads an "award-winning essay" about her two moms. "My mothers mean so, so, so, so much to me. I have two mothers. Two moms is pretty nice. Well, it's more than pretty nice. It's really nice. You can't imagine. Although having two mothers is a problem to others, I respect that that's the way they think and I can't do anything about it. I still think that those people think stupidly.

"This once happened with a boy in my class who could not come to my house because my parents were lesbians. One night I called their house and the mother told me their version of the Bible. I stood up for my mothers and knew that many kids of my class were supporting me and calling me to see how I was. I am proud of my moms and enjoy marching in the gay pride march every single year with my moms." The teacher compliments Emily on her essay, then leads the class in a round of applause. (Baptist Press, 3/28/02) [In all likelihood an essay by one of Emily's counterparts on traditional families would have been thrown out. Homosexual Surviving Partners Sue-An homosexual news release from the Washington Blade, 3/30/02, reveal numerous surviving gay/lesbian partners of the 9/11 bombing, are suing the federal compensation program. Some gay/lesbian couples failed to make a will leaving their possessions to their surviving partner. One of several things may be the reason for this. They just might want to change partners. Homosexuals certainly have many partners during their lifetime. They may ignore the truth that the death rate for homosexuals is extremely high. Mainly due to the killer AIDS. This group is more vulnerable to this sin disease than all others combined. They may simply be joining so many others waiting in the wings for a government handout. Would you care to make a guess who is financing this? US! This is not the last payment these sinners will receive unless they repent and turn to God through Jesus Christ. (Rom. 6:23) "For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord." `Gay-on-Gay' Violence Is The Real Danger For Homosexuals-The people who present the most ominous threat of violence to homosexuals are not Christians or conservatives, but other homosexuals, per a new Justice Department report (Choice4Truth). It shows that 10 percent of domestic violence from 1993-1999 were males who were violent toward male partners. Surveys in the last decade have shown that homosexuals are 2 percent of the population which would mean they are five times more likely to be victims of, or perpetrators of, domestic violence than other U.S. males. FBI "hate crime" statistics now show that efforts to silence all opinions disapproving of homosexuality in order to stem some widespread danger are not warranted. -(Calvary Contender, hereafter CC.)

N.O.W. Asks Moore To Resign Over Lesbian Ruling-Christian Coalition of Alabama Pres. John Giles applauds a unanimous ruling of the Ala. State Supreme Court, which denied a lesbian mother custody of her children. In agreeing that the mother's same-sex relationship made her unfit for custody, Chief Justice Roy Moore wrote, "common law designates homosexuality as an inherent evil, and if a person openly engages in such a practice, that alone would render him or her an unfit parent." Moore went on to say in his written concurring opinion that homosexuality is "abhorrent, immoral, detestable, a crime against nature, and a violation against the laws of nature" (3/4 C. News). The radical National Organization for Women demands Moore's resignation. -CC

Sin, Sodomy, Syphilis Soars In San Francisco-The number of syphilis infections in San Francisco grew from a low of 26 in 1998 to 139 last year. This year, that number could top 250. San Francisco is attempting to solve this problem by handing out condoms and lubricants-instead of discouraging the sexual behavior that spreads this disease. (Traditional Values Coalition, 3/29/02) The wages of sin is still death. Why is this so difficult for educated(?) leaders to grasp? Sodomy is unnatural; abstinence is biblical for the unmarried, and those who promote homosexuality as normal are helping Satan slaughter thousands. Those who persistently follow this road to hell will one day arrive. God's Word contains the only answer to this sin problem. Jesus said, "...except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish." Dobson & Buchanan Agree On Calif. Public School System-James Dobson, founder of Focus on the Family, and Pat Buchanan, former presidential candidate, agree that the California public school system is no place to send your children. "James Dobson is urging parents not to send their kids to public schools in California for fear they could be corrupted by a pro-homosexual agenda, CNSNews.com reported March 29. . . . Former presidential candidate and talk show host Patrick Buchanan was the guest on Dobson's March 28 radio show. He agreed with the host that parents should take their kids out of California public schools." (Baptist Press, 4/1/02) Buchanan added, "Anyone who teaches a child that homosexuality is a moral, natural and healthy lifestyle is lying to that child. You're exactly right. You should not let your children be lied to by people in authority [in] the classroom." Many are speaking up in approval of these two well known spokesmen, but will there be enough to quell liberal politicians and the media? God has spoken concerning this sin long ago. It is unethical, unnatural, unsafe, unscriptural, and unapproved by the great majority of Americans. Although the homosexual crowd, with Satan's law firm backing them, are gaining ground they are far, far from the majority. Speak up! -WWM

Canada Christian Broadcasting In Jeopardy?-A (listener) complaint was filed against an Alberta radio station for broadcasting a "Focus on the Family" program, "Homosexuality: Fact and Fiction." Focus on the Family Canada president Darrel Reid said the Canadian Broadcasting Standards Council (CBSC) had acted like "judge, jury and executioner" when it ordered the station to apologize on-air because the program "constituted an...insidious...abusively discriminatory comment on sexual orientation." (CrossWalk, 4/1/02) Reid concluded that "unless something is done about it," Canada just might "lose freedom of expression - especially in religion - but in all areas as well." [It seems that freedom of expression applies only for the homosexuals, the immoral, and the Jesse Jacksons of America. It is likely none of these will be quieted until the angel announces the "supper of the great God." (Rev. 19:17,18) The flesh of God- opposing kings, captains, and mighty men will then be consumed. Anti-Cussin' Law Repealed-Tim Boomer was found guilty in 1999 by an Arenac Co., Michigan jury for swearing after turning over his canoe in the Rifle River. This was in hearing distance of women and children. He was fined $75 and ordered to work four days in a child-care program, but the sentence was put on hold while the case was appealed. (AP, via ABCNews, 4/2/02) Now he can swear for free and without reprisal (at least from a human court.) The Mich. Court of Appeals ruled in favor of Boomer. A Mich. Law, enacted in 1897 and slightly reworded in 1931, says anyone using "indecent, immoral, obscene, vulgar or insulting language in the presence or hearing of any woman or child shall be guilty of a misdemeanor." The three-judge panel ruled in Boomer's favor for this reason. "Allowing a prosecution where one utters `insulting' language could possibly subject a vast percentage of the populace to a misdemeanor conviction," the written opinion said. A "vast percent of the populace" is also traveling a broad way leading through the wide gate into hell, but that doesn't make it advisable. (Matt. 7:13) The Judge of all the earth overrules all other decisions on this matter. (Exo. 20:7) "Thou shalt not take the name of the LORD thy God in vain; for the LORD will not hold him guiltless that taketh his name in vain." Mr. Boomer, you may get by with cussing in Michigan but you will not be excused by the Master unless you repent. -WWM

Mayor Declares Her Town Off Limits To Satan-Mayor Carolyn Risher of Inglis, Florida issued an ultimatum to the devil. "Satan, ruler of darkness, giver of evil, destroyer of what is good and just, is not now, nor ever again will be, a part of this town of Inglis." She does have the support of the Town Commission. (Reported on CNN's "American Morning") Not everyone feels the same, however. "This is the most extreme intrusion into religion by a public official that I have ever seen in my 27 years as a director of the ACLU," said Howard Simon, executive director of the ACLU of Florida. Remember the days before ACLU. Prayer anywhere was the American privilege, and public schools had not expelled the Lord. God will still bless the nation whose God is the Lord. -WWM

Credibility Of Cardinal Crumbles-Cardinal Bernard F. Law has covered up for child molesting priests for decades. According to the Boston Globe, 4/9/02 hundreds of documents reveal he has "repeatedly and knowingly allowed an alleged serial pedophile to hold posts that allowed them access to children." This is in spite of Law's predecessor referring to Paul R. Shanley a being a "troubled priest," and one of his own priests writing him "it is clear to me that Paul Shanley is a sick person." How can any sound thinking person remain loyal to a known pedophile or to a church organization that tolerates such action. Church history provides plenty of evidence that this murderous harlot is not only directing souls to eternal punishment, but wrecking the lives of many children in their youth. -WWM

Lawyers, Lawsuits, & Catholic Church-According to an article in Saturday's New York Times, approximately six lawyers around the country have worked on sexual abuse cases involving Catholic dioceses and officials since the early 1980's. In the early days, said the New York Times, the attorneys "despaired of ever focusing sustained attention on the problem of pedophile priests."

Now those same lawyers are swamped: "There is too much attention, too many cases and competition on the horizon." One attorney in Boston, who has some two dozen lawyers helping him to prepare sexual abuse lawsuits, admitted to fatigue after working 18 hours a day. Another attorney said he fields between 100 and 200 calls a day from survivors, "about half of whom are breaking their silence for the first time."

He has represented more than 400 people who say they were abused by priests, and estimates he has won more than $60 million in settlements from Catholic dioceses. Not a bad deal for him: according to the New York Times, plaintiffs' lawyers typically take a third and sometimes as much as 40 percent of settlements and judgments. (Crosswalk, 4/29/02)

Camping Says God's Use Of Churches Is Ended-Family Radio founder Harold Camping claimed in his 1994 book that Christ would return in 1994. Foolish date setting is unwise. He now writes in the new Family Radio News: It is the time when the work of the corporate external church has been finished. It is no longer used of God to do the work that had been assigned it to do as its principal endeavor. That work is to evangelize the world. Thus we have learned that the time has now come when we must leave our churches and congregations even though we are to continue to gather in fellowship with other believers (Heb. 10:25). This means that God's usage of the churches has come to an end. (4/8 C. News). So does Camping think Jesus was wrong when He said the gates of hell would not prevail against the church? -CC

Has Higher Education Become A Tool Of Satan?-This report from Baptist Press, 5/7/02 reveals the progress of Satan's disguised attack upon our youth. "Robert Knight, director of the Culture and Family Institute, which sponsored `From Tolerance to Forced Acceptance,' cited the Gay, Lesbian and Straight Education Network (GLSEN) a national organization of more than 1,200 educators as seeking to promote homosexuality in schools `under any guise that works,' CNSNews.com reported May 7. ...Knight also criticized the National Education Association, a teachers' union of 2 million members, for adopting `an openly pro-homosexual stance.'" "Linda Harvey, a Christian activist and former advertising executive, called the `Safe Schools Campaign' the Trojan horse of the homosexual education movement." She further stated that, "Boyfriend and girlfriend, husband and wife that kind of language is no longer going to be acceptable in the materials that our children [receive]," Harvey said. "Valentine's Day is going to be celebrated in a new way. Mother's Day may not be celebrated at all, unless you have two mothers." How long will true Christian parents and teachers be indifferent toward the obvious design of the devil in this matter of public education? Indifference to such promotions is far too perilous for the future of our youth and finally America. "Who is on the Lord's side?" is as applicable today as when spoken by Moses in Exo. 32:26. Will anyone step up? -WWM

Methodist Continue Unscriptural Practice-"For the first time in the history of the United Methodist Church, reports UMNS, the top two officers of the Council of Bishops will be women. Bishop Sharon A. Brown Christopher of the Illinois Area became the first woman to assume the office of president on May 3, and Bishop Sharon Rader of the Wisconsin Area continues as secretary, an office she has held since 1996." (Crosswalk, 5/8/02) They likely have not considered what Charles Wesley would say about this. I know for sure they have not asked the Lord or consulted His Word concerning women leading in worship. Does it really matter since the Methodist movement was started by a man other than the Man, Jesus Christ? This move by the UMC may help set the stage for Hillary in 2004 or 08. -WWM

SBC Churches Dismiss Sunday Night Services For Entertainment-We have long said that entertainment has replaced evangelism, and laughter has replaced joy in many Baptist churches. Four southwest Oklahoma SBC churches dismissed evening services for an outing near a resort lake in SW OK. The main feature? A female Christian(?) comic performing a Minnie Pearl skit. I was not there but I'm sure many left the outing declaring it to be a `wonderful worship service.' No doubt the pastors of said churches reported to those who did not attend `what a blessing they missed.' God has not only been expelled from America's schools, He has also in many places been excluded from church worship services. The sound of the Lord's knock at the door of many Baptist churches is largely being ignored. Or has our Lord discontinued knocking at some church doors? (Rev. 3:19,20) -WWM

`Christian Rock' Is A Money Making Misnomer-The Jacksonville Times, 5/4/02 had this bit on their website. "While the secular music business suffered, several high-profile releases propelled Christian music into the mainstream. Record sales soared. Tours criss-crossed the country. Powerful FM Christian radio stations spread the word in major markets. The cover of Newsweek announced `Jesus Rocks!'" The Christian(?) Rock trade is a $1 billion industry with access to marketing gifts from various sources. President of the Gospel Music Asso., Frank Breedan, said, "We take the tension of art and commerce, and we go one better. We add religion to it." He is right about one thing. It is a religion, but it is the devil's religion with a strong slant toward monetary gain. Isn't that the center piece of all false religion? -WWM

Child Molesters Predominately Homosexuals-Child molestation and pedophilia occur far more commonly among homosexuals than among heterosexuals on a per capita basis, according to a new study. "Overwhelming evidence supports the belief that homosexuality is a sexual deviancy often accompanied by disorders that have dire consequences for our culture," wrote Steve Baldwin in, "Child Molestation and the Homosexual Movement," soon to be published by the Regent University Law Review after Stanford Law Review backed out. Baldwin is the executive director of the Council for National Policy in Washington, D.C. A Family Research Institute report stated, "Scientific studies confirm a strong pedophilic predisposition among homosexuals." The institute, after reviewing more than 19 studies and peer-reviewed reports in a 1985 "Psychological Reports" article, found that homosexuals account for between 25 and 40 percent of all child molestation. (Baptist Press, 5/8/02) The homosexual agenda in our public schools is an (un)-spiritual terrorist bombarding of our children. The harm done by these terrorists is not only ignored, the terrorists themselves are protected by law. How can any politician stand and say, "God bless America," and disregard the spiritual harm of homosexuality? -WWM

Hypocritical Planned Parenthood Clinics-National director of STOPP International, Ed Szymkowiak, reports over 3 million children will not be able to send their mothers a card this Mother's Day because they were aborted at Planned Parenthood clinics over the past 25 years. Mr. Szymkowiak further stated: "Yet Planned Parenthood is running a hypocritical Mother's Day e-card campaign that includes the option of making a donation to Planned Parenthood in someone's honor. Planned Parenthood will exploit anything for a buck." The Planned Parenthood web page for the Mother's Day e-card says, in part, "Every child should be wanted and loved." "In 2000, Planned Parenthood killed 197,070 children whose mothers obviously neither wanted nor loved them," said Szymkowiak. "At an average cost of $350, that is almost $69 million of income from abortion alone in one year. That an organization such as this would try to exploit Mother's Day for donations is revolting." ACLU Sues Over Abstinence Program In Louisiana-The American Civil Liberties Union is suing to stop an abstinence program in Louisiana because it claims the program promotes religion. The lawsuit claims Louisiana has promoted a "Christ-centered" program, religious youth revivals and biblical instructions on purity. (TVCNews, 5/10/02)

Carlton Pearson's `Inclusion Theology'-Carlton Pearson is founder of a multiracial, charismatic megachurch in Tulsa. He claims he lost the recent mayoral primary due to his belief in inclusion theology, which also questions the existence of a literal hell (5/02 Charisma). His gospel of inclusion states that everyone is saved they just don't know it. Pearson said he first started thinking about the inclusive doctrine after reading E.W. Kenyon's writings over 25 years ago and has been preaching it for three years. Per Dave Hunt, Kenyon is the real founder of today's Positive Confession movement which has also influenced Hagin, Cho, and others. Pearson spoke at NRB'98. -CC.

Commercial Contemporary Music-Modern praise concerts where there is a ticket price have moved from worship of God, to the entertainment of the people. You don't pay to worship God! The cost of a praise service can be covered by a freewill offering but when tickets are sold, as in a recent Gaither concert in Toronto, the emphasis is on entertainment rather than the worship of God (2/02 Canadian Revivalist). Toronto Free Presby. pastor Dr. Frank McClelland said according to advertised ticket prices, if the Air Canada Centre was full that would bring in $1.5 million. -CC

CCM Leads To New Evangelicalism-Music is a powerful force for change. Rev. John Ashbrook writes in the 4/02 OBF Visitor: Wherever Christian contemporary music is welcomed by a fundamental church or school, that fundamental entity will become new evangelical. Worship music is one of the great battles in Bible-believing churches today. We must teach students to thrill to the worship music which upholds the Savior. Be warned, be wise, beware! -CC

U.N. Workers Trade Aid For Sex-The United Nations has publicly accused its own aid workers and peacekeepers of rampant sexual abuse in West Africa (3/30 World). According to testimony of refugees, male UN staff members traded wheat and other food items, tarpaulins, and medicine for sex with girls under 18. UN workers feel free to abuse the people they are supposed to help and protect. -CC

Forced To Pay For Someone Else's Abortion?-Last month, California became the first state to force insurers to cover so-called morning-after pills. Gov. Gray Davis ordered California HMOs to pay for the drugs, claiming that a woman's right to choose must never be held up by red tape. (4/13 World) But, what about the right not to pay for someone else's abortion? In 1999, Davis signed a bill requiring HMOs to cover federally approved contraceptives. -CC

Court Kills Ban On Virtual Child Porn-The U.S. Supreme Court last month shocked Christians over the country with a decision that legalizes child pornography when the pictures are generated by computers, etc. The ruling struck down a congressional ban on virtual child pornography, saying the First Amendment protects pornography or other sexual images that only appear to depict real children engaged in sex. *** And a federal judge has ruled against a bid by the Justice Department to overturn an Oregon law that allows doctor-assisted suicide. Attorney General John Ashcroft had sought to override that law, saying helping people to die was not a "legitimate medical practice." -CC

Victim Awarded $80,000 For Injury At Service-A woman who broke her arm after being slain in the spirit during a charismatic worship service won $80,000 from the Long Island church where she was injured (2/21 Ala. Baptist). The minister placed his hand on her forehead causing her to fall backwards. She argued the church should have had someone in place to catch her. Or better yet, why not heal her? -CC

BWA Leader With Pope At Assisi-Baptist World Alliance Gen. Sec'y Denton Lotz participated in Pope John Paul's interfaith prayer gathering for world peace at Assisi, Jan. 24 (Foundation). Lotz said: I went to Assisi to affirm as Baptist Christians that we are people of peace and that we will join the other Christians to pray for peace. His other Christians included Catholics, Muslims, Hindus, etc. (2/15 CC), He has reached out ecumenically to Catholics before (see 2/1 CC). The testimony of conservative So. Baptists is tainted by its membership and support of the apostate BWA. -CC

Bill Bright's `Beyond All Limits' Conference, `Global Pastors Network', `Synergistic Church'-Dennis Costella has a good firsthand report of the "Beyond All Limits" pastor's conference which convened in Orlando, Jan. 17-19 (Foundation). Campus Crusade's Bill Bright had the vision for this. The purpose was twofold: first, to minister to the 5,000 pastors assembled at First Baptist Church and second, to launch a new Internet program for training pastors for the new millennium, the Global Pastors Network. The ambitious plan to network (join together in common fellowship, ministry and purpose) and instruct virtually every Christian worker in the world by way of the Internet and satellite technology in the decade ahead was impressive. The proposed global synergistic church model, an ecumenically-styled network of churches and ministries where doctrinal issues are set aside, and all who say they love Jesus will join together to reach the world for Christ. Many messages were helpful and Biblically-based. Speakers included Drs. Falwell, Stowell, Smalley, Warren, Trask, and Merritt. Charismatics were well represented by Hayford, and PK's Bill McCartney who stressed the need for no divisions to exist between all Christians. The above speakers and the following other ministries are part of 200 already committed to the GPN. Kay Arthur, Henry Blackaby, Bill Bright, Chuck Colson, Jim Cymbala, James Dobson, John Hagee, David Jeremiah, John Kilpatrick, Erwin Lutzer, Chuck Swindoll, and Bruce Wilkinson. A conference leader said: In the future, those [pastors] who are not networking will not be working. -CC

Revisionist Evangelicals Offer Stale Liberalism-The struggle to define evangelical boundaries has existed since the formation of the movement in the 1940s. Young evangelicals in the 1970s stretched the movement leftward. The evangelical left now resists any meaningful boundaries at all (4/6 World). A group of theologians recently released a new manifesto for revisionist evangelicalism. The Word Made Fresh calls for evangelicals to resist attempts to propagate rigid definitions of evangelicalism that result in unnecessary alienation and exclusion. Without doctrinal boundaries, New Evangelicalism has long been adrift, moving leftward. The middle of the road is a dangerous parking place. -CC
