WCC Defends Islam-World Council of Churches head, Dr. Konrad Raiser, sent a letter in Nov. greeting the world-wide Muslim community at the beginning of Ramadan. He evoked the spiritual bonds uniting Christians and Muslims that "need to be rediscovered in the aftermath of the 11 September tragedies." He said, "As Christians, we reject the tendency, not uncommon in many Western countries, to perceive Muslims as a threat and to portray Islam in negative terms while projecting a positive self-image." He called for "intensification of dialogue between religions and cultures." A copy of the letter to Muslim leaders was also sent to WCC member churches and to other ecumenical bodies. In an enclosed note, Raiser asked them to "seek the most appropriate ways" to engage with Muslim partners in acts of spiritual fellowship and prayer for peace and justice. He expressed solidarity with the Muslim community, and of "our commitment to the spirit of dialogue and mutual trust." He wrote, "All acts which destroy life, whether through terrorism or in war, are contrary to the will of God. The recent tragic events [reveal] the vulnerability of all nations and the fragility of the international order. A world in which more and more people and nations are consigned to extreme poverty while others accumulate great wealth is inherently unstable. The tendency to impose one's will, even by force which is [seen] in the policies of powerful nations, provokes resentment among the weaker ones. Here the dialogue between Muslims and Christians, to which the World Council of Churches remains strongly committed, finds its authentic meaning." (Calvary Contender, 1/02) [One-world government, one-world religion that seemed to fail under Nimrod, is alive and well. Last days prophecies are being fulfilled daily. -W. W. Mosley hereafter, WWM]

Tensions Build Over Muslim Desire To Build Mosque-The rift between Muslims and Christians(?) is heating up over the Muslim's desire to build a Mosque in Nazareth. Some years ago "Christians were physically attacked on Christmas and the following Easter by extremists who threw rocks at them as they were leaving church." (Baptist Press 12/31/01) Almost without exception when Muslim violence against other religions is reported, it is the "extremists" or "fundamentalist" Muslims who commit the act. These "extremists" are being true to the teaching of their Koran. If all they want to do is build a Mosque, come to America. Someone will donate them the ground. If they were denied a place in the U.S. to build a Mosque there might well be more Muslim extremists here than we know. -WWM

ETS Split On `Open Theism'-The Evangelical Theological Society (Nov. 16) passed a resolution, by about 70 percent, against "open theism" which stated, "We believe the Bible clearly teaches that God has complete, accurate and infallible knowledge of all events past, present and future including all future decisions and actions of free moral agents." (11/26 Christian News) Open theism undermines God's foreknowledge and other of His attributes. Its main proponents include John Sanders (Huntington College), Gregory Boyd (Bethel College), and Clark Pinnock (McMaster Divinity College). (Calvary Contender, 1/02) The same publication reported that "last month, Dallas Seminary Prof. Darrell Bock, president of ETS, said `sharp boundaries should not be drawn for the evangelical movement.' Instead, Bock argued that `evangelicalism may be likened to a village green, which is defined more by the center than by the boundaries.' He said this in a speech before the ETS during a debate on whether or not to reject the doctrine of open theism. This is the heresy that says God does not know all things that are going to happen in the future." [Only a few are willing to warn of the danger of sending young preachers to such seminaries. Most who take courses under Prof. Bock, or graduate from Dallas Seminary will esteem God and the Bible much less reliable (if trustworthy at all) when they leave than when they began. -WWM]

The Death & Gambling Industries Of Dr. Allred-"Terminal efficiency" is only one of Dr. Edward C. Allred's accomplishments. Aside from owning 25 Family Planning Asso. (FPA) clinics in Calif. & Chicago, he also earns cash at Los Alamitos Race Course & Ruidoso Downs, horse- racing venues, which he owns in Calif. and NM. (World. 1/19/02) Shortly after Calif. legalized abortion, Dr. Allred and Kenneth L. Wright founded their abortion business in 1969. "He now brags on his website that FPA's founders `immediately began to concentrate on developing simpler and less expensive abortion procedures,' making FPA `the leading provider of abortion services in California.'" (Ibid.) By 1980, FPA had grown to a 12-clinic operation. Dr. Allred reported to the San Diego Union his doctors would "crank out a staggering 60,000 abortions" that year, the report stated. He is rewarded with $5 million annual profits for FPA. The doctor(?) continues to try to streamline his operation. He already allows only 5 minutes for an abortion (murder). It is little wonder that hell has enlarged itself at least once. (Isa. 5:14) -WWM

Where Will Diversity Lead?-One thing God made clear to Israel was that marriage and mixing with other nationalities and cultures would be their demise. Multiformity of worship and cultural practices robbed Israel of their identity. Paganism became acceptable in Israel, the result being their distancing themselves from God. Anti-Christian media promotions are freely dumped on the public today. Public libraries and malls can display all sorts of anti-God displays with apparent blessings from liberal lawyer's written laws. Yet displaying the ten commandments on public buildings or displaying the nativity scene is being attacked and strictly forbidden. School children are being educated on the perceived failure of our forefather's dependence on God for national success. Unless courageous pastors determinately warn of the impending dangers facing our land, and Christians elsewhere, America will lose her identity. 2 Chron. 7:14 does indeed apply to us today. -WWM

Kentucky Combating ACLU-The ACLU has targeted KY for displaying the Ten Commandments in public places. According to an AP 12/31/01 release, the ACLU has so far sued 7 counties, 4 in Nov. and has some 20 more on their hit list. The ACLU has the backing of a U.S. Supreme Court ruling in 1980 that "posting the commandments in schools amounted to an unconstitutional government promotion of religion." A federal judge has ordered the Ten Commandment displays be taken down in two county court houses and a school district. Erik Stanley, an attorney for the Kentuckians said, "I think what the ACLU is trying to do is to rip away from public life every shred of religion that has impacted our country." I think he's right. Too bad the ACLU lawyers weren't on the Mayflower or faced with the task of feeding & protecting their families in colonial days. That is, without the help of God who is the Author of the Ten Commandments. -WWM

What Is Your Teen-Ager Reading-"Mad Magazine, a perennial favorite of the teen set, has named evangelist Jerry Falwell `Dumbest person of 2001.' The magazine, known for its satirical take on life in America and popular culture, singled out Falwell for his placing blame for the Sept. 11 terror attacks on homosexuals, feminists and a host of left-wing groups. `We thought Falwell had reached his personal pinnacle of dumbness a few years ago when he accused the Teletubbies of promoting homosexuality,' said John Ficarra, editor of MAD. Ficarra further said, "Give the guy credit, we underestimated him." (GOP NVs, 2/3/02) I may not agree with Jerry Falwell in most areas, but his original assessment of God's judgmental practices is on course. (Compare the days of Lot, Noah, & Nimrod.) If this magazine is a favorite "of the teen set," it leaves little doubt what many children are being taught about religion and patriotism. I thank God for Christian young people who do not feed their minds on this kind of rot. (Prov. 22:6) "Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it." -WWM

Outside The Mainstream-TV anchors must take a course in college on how to belittle conservatives and true Christianity. A Wall Street Journal editorial, 2/2/01 gives a clear view of this. " . . . CBS identifies the famously radical feminist and leftist Catharine MacKinnon as a `noted law professor' while Phyllis Schlafly is a `conservative spokeswoman.' Rush Limbaugh is a `conservative radio talk show host' but Rosie O'Donnell who [while hosting a fund-raiser for Hillary Clinton] referred to Mayor Rudolph Giuliani as `NY's village idiot,' is not described as the liberal TV talk show host." Believers in Christ are certainly outside the mainstream of the world. Take heart in the words of Jesus: (John 15:18) "If the world hate you, ye know that it hated me before it hated you." Whose side had you rather be on? -WWM

NBC's Twisted Sense Of Values-News(?) anchor, Matt Lauer, while interviewing one- time presidential candidate Pat Buchannan, ridiculed Mr. Buchannan for his conservative Christian views. On the 12/4/01 today show, Lauer scorned Buchannan's conservative position with a visible smirk on his face. While the evening before, Tom Brokaw announced the accidental death of the Clinton's dog, and closed the program with this statement, "Rest in peace, Buddy." How could Buddy rest in peace with all he witnessed in the White House? Too late for NBC's anchors to interview the former "first dog" of the U.S. -WWM

A Case Of Christian Martyrdom?-Gong Shengliang, 46, was accused of complicity in rape and using a cult to undermine the enforcement of law-stereotyped charges often leveled against groups the Chinese government has labeled as cults. Evangelical missionaries who know him, however, insist he practices traditional Christian doctrine and has been targeted because he refused to register his church with the government. He faces execution by the government. (Baptist Press, 1/4/02) Pastor Gong had been in hiding for several months after the Public Security Bureau placed him on a most wanted list for unauthorized religious activity. Other missionaries have made some investigations and feel "this group is not a cult at all but practices fundamental evangelical Christian doctrine." Nothing less can be expected from a godless Communist nation. Baptists have long been the target of false accusations, far too many ending in death sentences. Character assassination has ended many pastors' careers. - WWM

Media Language Attacks Fundamentalism-The media is masterful at using Christian terms and reversing the symbolized purpose. From the beginning of the war on terrorism the media has considered the Taliban forces as "fundamental." "Michael Barone, author of The Almanac of American Politics, says liberals trying to discredit religious influence in politics may be gaining ground by linking the strong beliefs of religious conservatives in the U.S. with the religious-based violence of `Islamists' in Afghanistan." (BP,1/4/02) Barone said, ". . . it's unfair to compare the American `religious right' to the Taliban." The devil is never fair, nor are his couriers. "And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light." (2 Cor. 11:14) -WWM

Vermont's High Court Upholds Homosexual Agenda-Vermont's Supreme Court has rejected a challenge to the civil unions law granting homosexual couples many of the rights and benefits of marriage, the Associated Press reported. In a Dec. 26 order signed by all five justices and released yesterday, the court turned aside claims brought by taxpayers, legislators and town clerks. (BP, 1/4/02) Their claim said 14 House members who supported the bill gambled "on the outcome." Town clerks argued the law "forces them to violate their religious beliefs that homosexuality is wrong by issuing civil union licenses to couples." The high court of Vermont said the law permitted the town clerks to "appoint assistants to issue the licenses." Ordering another to sin in your stead may work in this court, but not in God's court. Remember Ellen DeGeneres and her lesbian lover, Anne Heche (PBC, 12/00), were planning to move to Vermont, but they split before the move. God said "their sin is very grievous." (Gen. 18:20) -WWM

Wicca `Reverend' A Wisconsin Prison Chaplain-Jamyi Welch changed her name to Jamyi Witch "because I am one," she says. An L.A. Times report said the `Rev. Jamyi Witch' was hired as Wisconsin's newest prison chaplain. "A state representative from West Salem is leading a drive to yank funding for her $32,500-a-year post, saying taxpayers shouldn't be forced to accept this hocus pocus." The representative has some backers, one of which called Witch's appointment "morally dangerous." These officials are on the same side with God. Jamyi has cast her lot with the devil and a motley crowd of demons, heretics, and ungodly sinners. God makes it very clear how he feels about a witch. (Exo. 22:18) "Thou shalt not suffer a witch to live." (Deut. 18:10,11) "There shall not be found among you any one that maketh his son or his daughter to pass through the fire, or that useth divination, or an observer of times, or an enchanter, or a witch, Or a charmer, or a consulter with familiar spirits, or a wizard, or a necromancer." Before you write me about my stand on this, get in touch with the Lord. I believe you will find out He is right. -WWM

Celibacy On Hold-Popularity with parishioners didn't keep a Catholic priest from being charged with rape of a 15-year-old girl twice in the church rectory. This charge was brought by police and prosecutors in Haverhill, Mass. `Rev.' Kelvin Iguabita pleaded not guilty. The girl said he "flirted with her and promised to marry her and then, when she declined, sexually assaulted her." (Boston Globe, 1/16/02) Although this kind of depraved debauchery is found elsewhere in our society, it seems to be happening more rapidly among Catholic priests. Seems a good time to call Sen. Kennedy of Mass. He likely knows how to avoid prosecution or even being charged with rape, murder, or other iniquitous activity. (Psa. 12:8) "The wicked walk on every side, when the vilest men are exalted." -WWM

Jesse In The Spotlight Again-Civil rights activist Jesse Lee Peterson is suing Jesse Jackson and his son for a racial slur against him. Peterson, a nationally known conservative who has been critical of Jackson and his Rainbow/Push operation, has charged Jesse with assault. (Judicial Watch, 1/16/02) What a long line could be formed if all who had been critical of Jesse Jackson would gather. Jackson is reprehensible in all his actions. Only the liberal media would focus their cameras on him. -WWM

WCCC & Baptism-"Willow Creek Community Church offers the options of believers' Baptism in the modes of sprinkling and immersion on the basis of a sacramentarian view of the ordinances, whereby the value of these modes lies in the symbolism they convey and in the faith of the participants rather than the nature or the amount of the elements used." Concerning infant baptism: "Your baptism as an adult . . . in no way repudiates the Baptism you received as a child." (WCCC Web. via Australian Ind. Bapt. News Letter, [AIBNL] 1/02) Some Baptist(?) churches are members of the WCCC Association. It would be interesting if they conform to this heretical teaching. Be careful when someone comes joining your church by statement. Their baptism might not be baptism at all. -WWM

Anglican Church & Freemasonry-"Anglican parish of St Paul's, Lithgow, has split after an edict from the parish council that Freemasons abandon their beliefs or stop going to church. On October 28, the parish council issued a leaflet saying: `There has been a clear recognition of the Spiritual dangers of Freemasonry and that it is incompatible with being Christian.' It said Freemasonry undermined the Bible, contained rituals offensive to Christianity and denied the one true God. Harold Coates, a former NSW grand master of the Masonic lodge, former mayor of Lithgow, state MP and a lifelong member of the parish, said he would not abandon Freemasonry. Mr Coates said he was attending a Presbyterian church but was not prepared to abandon either Freemasonry or Anglicanism." (Sydney Morn. Hearld, via AIBNL, 1/02)

Franklin Graham Now President of BGEA-Billy Graham Evangelistic Association recently appointed Franklin Graham president of the organization, adding the title to that of CEO, a position he has held for the past year. Graham, 49, succeeds John R. Corts, who retired last month after 35 years with the organization, including 10 years as president and chief operating officer. (Crosswalk, 1/19/02) This is in spite of the media saying Franklin has lost good standing with the President, his father, and others. It upset the media when Franklin said the Islam religion was "wicked, violent and not of the same God." (Crosswalk, 11/19/01) We will soon see if this new position will change the view of the new BGEA president. -WWM

Calif. School District Required Subject-A mandatory course on Islam is required by Bryon Union School Dist. in Bryon, CA. The Am. Center for Law & Justice has sent a letter to this school district "demanding that school officials permit students to opt out of a mandatory course on Islam that requires students to pray in the name of Allah and to `pretend' they are Muslim." (Crosswalk, 1/19/02) Where was the ACLU when this subject requirement was established in a public school? You can be sure the ACLU would have raised their ugly head if the study of the Bible and Baptist history was mandatory. -WWM

Global Abortion On Demand-Along with a one-world government and one-world religion comes a one-world abortion on demand. "The global map forms a patchwork quilt regarding abortion. Ninety-seven countries constituting about 66 percent of the world's population have laws permitting, in essence, abortion on demand, according to Human Life International's website. Ninety-three countries with about 34 percent of the world's population prohibit abortion or allow such exceptions as to protect the mother's life or for reasons of rape and fetal deformity, HLI reports. About 55 million surgical abortions are performed each year worldwide, according to HLI." (Baptist Press, 1/18/02) Also "in addition to surgical abortions, young human life also is at risk globally because of abortion-inducing drugs, cloning and stem cell research." The number of innocent lives taken annually over the world equals more than 20% of the population of the U.S. Abortion is still murder even though man-made laws permit it. God's law doesn't take this action lightly. "If men strive, and hurt a woman with child, so that her fruit depart from her . . . if mischief follow, then that shalt give life for life." (Exo. 21:22,23) -WWM

Jesse Jackson Silent About Lawsuit- Keiana Peyton, a spokeswoman for the Rainbow/PUSH Coalition, said neither Jackson nor the organization would comment on the lawsuit filed in LA Co. Superior Court. Black conservative activist Jesse Lee Peterson said Jackson called him a "parasite." (Chicago Tribune, 1/19/02) Of all people, Jesse would know all about the manipulation of a parasite. He has milked the media for every drop of publicity to carry him to he forefront of his own agenda. I wonder what he has privately called the mother and child of his out-of-wedlock affair? - WWM

American Taliban Soldier-John Walker Lindh, American turned Taliban soldier, has become a dilemma for people in high places. What happened to this member of an average American family? Prosecution for his actions are on hold while the higher echelon of intelligence figure out what went wrong. You can be sure of one thing . . when the dust settles after all the investigating, the real culprit for his actions will still be hidden in the cave of liberalism. Expelling God from our public schools will never be addressed. Nor will legalizing abortion or removing the Ten Commandments from public view. Disregard for God in America will not be considered while seeking a reason for the action of depraved humanity. We must face this question: "Are not these evils come upon us, because our God is not among us?" (Deut. 31:17) Modern America seems to have forgotten that the nation whose God is the Lord is blessed. (Psa. 33:12) What a lamentable condition when the anger of God is kindled against any nation, and He hides His face from them. You can be sure that many evils and troubles shall come when that happens. (Deut. 31:17) -WWM

Presbyterians Approve Gay Ordination-A delegate of pastors and lay members of Missouri & Kansas voted Sat., Jan. 26, to approve the ordination of homosexuals by a vote of 150-139. Supporters say the changes would be the best way for peace within the denomination. (Crosswalk, 1/30/02) Political correctness once again supplants biblical teaching. Moses' cry, "Who is on the Lord's side," is mostly ignored. (Exo. 32:26) Or Joshua's determination that he and his house "will serve the Lord." (Josh. 24:15) God give grace to those who will stand on the Word of God at all cost. -WWM

Violent Religion-"Television evangelist Pat Robertson Thursday described Islam as a violent religion bent on world domination, drawing immediate protests from American Muslims. Robertson, one of the most powerful figures on the religious right, made the remarks on his Christian Broadcasting Network's `700 Club.' . . . `(L)adies and gentlemen, I have taken issue with our esteemed president in regard to his stand in saying Islam is a peaceful religion. It's just not. And the Quran makes it very clear, if you see an infidel, you are to kill him.'" (Washington Post, 2/22/02 via GOP N&V's) Another nationally known evangelist joins Franklin Graham in stating the truth about the Islamic religion. He, like Graham, is raising the ire of the gullible. Too bad Jerry Falwell got cold feet. It would be good if our politicians would take the same position on this subject. -WWM

Celibacy Under Discussion Among Catholic Priests-Because of all the recent incidents of child molestation among Catholic priests, a group of Boston-area priests has begun meeting privately to discuss "concerns about the future of the Catholic Church." Some suggested they talk about "pushing the Vatican . . . (to open) up the priesthood beyond the ranks of celibate men." (Boston Globe, 2/28/02) Since the scandal of clergy sexual abuse has surfaced, the group discussing these issues "has exploded, and in its sense of urgency has quickened." Makes me wonder if the priests aren't more interested in saving the public image of the Catholic Church than in the lives of those sexually abused or the safety of future generations. -WWM

Life Threatening Missionary Work-If the Islamic religion is "peace loving," why does there remain an Islamic law which prescribes death for Muslims who convert to other religions? "The interim government (in Afghanistan) has shown no sign of liberalizing the Islamic law." (Crosswalk, 2/27/02) Dayna Curry and Heather Mercer with Shelter Now International, were arrested last fall and held for several weeks by the Taliban. Their charge was "proselytizing to win Afghan converts to Christianity." Why do liberal politicians and the media believe it would be any different if Muslims became a majority in America. True Christianity is already under attack as being detrimental to our governmental operations. You can be sure if the Islamic religion gains precedence in any nation it will be no different whether in America or elsewhere. Note how the Islamic religion suppresses any people. However, "Blessed is the nation whose God is the LORD; and the people whom he hath chosen for his own inheritance." (Psa. 33:12) -WWM

Traditional Marriage Attacked In Canada-After two years of research, an independent government-funded agency has determined that the definition of "marriage" no longer is sufficient, stating that "Canadian laws and statutes that use traditional marriage as the guideline for certain rights and responsibilities are out-of-date, and need revision." (Crosswalk, 2/27/02) Just across the border north, a report by the Law Commission of Canada, said "Marriage is no longer a sufficient model, given the variety of relationships that exist in Canada today." The likes of Ellen DeGeneres and Anne Heche will look beyond Virginia to Canada, for the approval of their lifestyle. The Canadian Parliament will not be the only governmental agency with this view is more liberals are elected to the U.S. congress. -WWM (Editor's note: Anne Heche has now married a man and no longer claims to be a lesbian. This proves that lesbians and homosexuals can change.)

47 Christians Arrested In Prayer Meeting-"70 Chinese police officers surrounded, then swept into a building where Christians had gathered for a prayer meeting in a village just north of Beijing, and arrested 47. Their Bibles were confiscated, and they were even denied drinking water after their detention. This reportedly took place the same day Chinese President Jiang Zemin said, in a joint press conference with visiting US President Bush, that China's people have freedom of worship." (Crosswalk, 2/27/02) You can be sure of this, once a communist always a communist. That is unless sin is repented of, and faith in the Lord Jesus Christ enters the sinners heart. Communism is as surely a false religion as is the Islamic religion and all other religions that deny that Jesus is God. (John 1:14) "And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth." Only true believers accept that God was in Christ reconciling the world unto Himself. (2 Cor. 5:19) -WWM

Religious Freedom In China?-The Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod and the Lutheran Laymen's League do not support the persecuted house-church Christians in China. They support the Communist-approved and pro-abortion, theologically liberal China Christian Council and such CCC leaders as retired Bishop Ting and Wensao Han. (1/28 Chr. News) No Chinese can go to any public store to buy a Bible. All churches in China are under the control of the Communists who also appoint the pastors. House churches are "illegal." (Calvary Contender, hereafter CC.)

Catholic Pedophile Priests Scandals-A former parish priest was convicted in January of sexually assaulting a 10-year-old boy a decade ago. Records depict the "loathsome deeds of a sexual predator who allegedly preyed on over 100 innocent children over three decades." The Catholic Church already has paid over $10 million to settle 50 civil lawsuits against this priest alone. The Boston archdiocese has quietly settled child sex-abuse claims against at least 70 other priests in the past 10 years. Church leaders could have stopped the abuse but didn't. Instead, they quietly shuffled the predatory priest from parish to parish where he continued to prey on children. A $120 million jury award in Dallas in 1997 was later reduced to $23 million (2/1 CC). Catholics in Ireland agreed last month to pay $110 million to settle cases involving hundreds of people who claimed they were sexually abused as children by priests, nuns, and other church officials over several decades. (2/11 USN&WR) The Catholic "forbidding to marry" rule (1 Tim.4:3) is a main causal factor. -CC

Homosexual Network Coming?-MTV and Showtime are seriously considering an "all gay, all the time" cable network which could be launched within the next year (1/19 World). These two networks have been at the forefront of homosexual programming in recent years. Has America sunk to such a depth to accept such? -CC

Failure In Separation Leads To Apostasy-Failure in the area of separation always leads to apostasy, be it a denomination, a parachurch organization, an individual church or an individual. The primary purpose of separation is to maintain the purity of the people of God. God is separate from all evil, and if we are to walk in fellowship with Him, we are to be holy (The Projector). -CC
