NCC Criticizes Bush Administration-The liberal NCC is criticizing the President for "detention of hundreds of mostly Middle Eastern men as part of the terrorism investigation." The council, which represents 36 Protestant and Orthodox denominations, said in a Dec. 20th statement that it supports a civil rights suit demanding the federal government release names of those arrested and the charges they face. The council condemned the use of military tribunals, saying they "have the potential to undermine legal rights under our Constitution." Attorney General John Ashcroft has defended the administration's approach as necessary to fight terrorism. (KC Star, 12/28/01) Sounds as though the NCC is about as interested in our national security as in the doctrinal security of true believers. It is unbelievable that some Baptists(?) have membership in and support the NCC. -(W. W. Mosley, hereafter WWM)
Sunday Night Service: `Holy Bond Fire'-Christ Community Church in Almorgordo, NM advertised their Dec. 30th evening service as having their "Holy Bond Fire." After the Sunday night regular service they would gather around the "Fire Pit" and "burn all leaven!" This was to include "all books, tapes, posters, CD's, etc. that are UNCLEAN, or that favor WITCHCRAFT." Such a cleansing would benefit every home in America. But to have a burning of "Harry Potter in effigy," a witchcraft practice, seems to contradict and defeat their purpose. If all Harry Potter materials were destroyed, including Hollywood films, and hearts were made right, Harry Potter would die a natural death. -WWM
One-World Religion Gets Boost-The Muslim religion has received good press since Sept. 11. Even while Christians are the targets of an Islamic jihad, schools are inviting Muslims to talk about their religion. "Muslim clerics are joining Christian leaders at multi-faith prayer meetings." (Agape Press) It seems the Islamic religion now is peaceful, and is not a religion attacking a Christian(?) nation. This Agape Press quote from World magazine is disbelieved by many, although it is true. "There is a growing body of belief that the solution to religious intolerance is to create a world religion. No doubt, the cornerstone of that religion will be that any doctrine which divides such as salvation through faith in Jesus Christ will not be tolerated." It is not too late to adorn the believer's armor. (Eph. 6:14-18) -WWM
Homosexual Activist's Aggression-"The Salvation Army has been the target of an attack by radical homosexual groups because the Christian relief organization reversed its decision to support `domestic partner' benefits." (Agape Press) Although some churches are accepting homosexual relationships as a sinless activity, homosexuality is anti-God. Such an attack is not as radical as it is realistic. The sodomites in Genesis 19 were so irate they would have broken down Lot's door to get at him because he considered homosexuality as wickedness. (vs. 7) There is sure to come more aid for the homosexual programs and less for the Lord's true church. "Having done all to stand. . . Stand therefore . . ." (Eph. 6:13,14) -WWM
Feminist Exaggerate On Abortion Rate-According to a National Organization for Women website, NOW estimates that "one in two adult women in the U.S. will have an abortion, thereby exercising a basic human right to control their bodies. This right may appear secure while the Supreme Court's Roe v. Wade decision stands, but we are experiencing an unprecedented attack on reproductive freedom." It would be interesting to know where NOW obtained their statistics. Abortion is murder and is not a basic right of anyone. Controlling the human body is the right of God. Although NOW will never understand this, if Romans 12:1,2 was followed abortion would stop and NOW would have to disband. According to such abortion supporters, "reproductive freedom" is unproductive foolishness. -WWM
Animated Characters & Vulgarity For Children-This is not comedy, it is corruption. The creators of Comedy Central's South Park animated characters used the same vulgarity 162 times. A study by the Parents Television Council released recently that South Park averages 106 instances of foul language per 60-minute episode. (World, 2/9/02) "South Park" creators, Trey Parker and Matt Stone, have no interest in entertainment of anyone, but are the embodiment of satanic forces against family, children, and the way of American life and heritage. This is the kind of visual rot that too many parents hire for baby-setters. Is it any wonder that new editions of Webster's Dictionary have to be printed regularly? Modern dictionaries give `gay' and words used by South Park characters a new meaning, while new (per)-versions of the Bible attack our Lord's holiness. -WWM
Astrology More Popular Than Religion-According to Nielsen/net Ratings service, astrology
Web sites have received more hits in `01 than any other. Astrology took
the #1 spot with 868,000 surfers. The Church of Latter-Day Saints came in
second with 181,000. (Reuters, 12/31/01) This reveals at least two
things. The general public are looking to the stars but not to God Who made
them, and that the Mormons are more successful in mission work than the
Lord's church. It is always easier for fallen humanity to believe in error
than truth. -WWM
